Plot I've been in London on few occasions and had the idea how interesting would be to prepare a mix devoted to the city that's considered as one of the global capitals of music and culture. But, I missed the proper inspiration how would it sound and what would be the mix route. I have never done any of my "album" mixes just like that; there has to be some back story.
And then, out of nowhere, while walking the streets of London this year, I heard the music in my head. Big smile on my face followed by the familiar words: Enter the darkness, the beats marching in, The lightning now begins, Don't ask what's happening, This is the start of something.
It is crazy how inspiration works. Suddenly, I had drums, lyrics, synths, bass - MUSIC in my head! I wanted to run to the mixer and start working straight away. The result is below: energetic mix made to rock the speakers!
And these lyrics, a part of Break Down the Doors, I used in a giant mashup, where I played with four tracks, two of which are dub versions of Morillo's old hit.
This mix is a clash of several styles, with impression that the pitch is higher than it actually is. Main flow make up tech house and techno combined with progressive, while two house masters Dennis Ferrer and Erick Morillo were presented in tech edits I made for this album.
