The Roots of the Unknown 6
Crno jezero

The plot

It is always challenging to summarize any of The Roots mixes and to put it in one basic form. Each time I use a lot of energy and months of creation, in a concept of presenting the mysterious journey of the unknown man, not knowing where the music might take you.
...............................
This is the backstory, in order to understand the whole idea that's behind the album.

Max TenRoM - Armenia
Max TenRoM, a Frenchman from Toulouse, created illusion of a live performance with his emotional melancholic instrumental dedicated to Armenian music and culture.

Pedro del Mar - Playa del Lounge (Intro Mix)
My focus was to follow up the opening track, in a way that listener cannot really be sure when exactly the transition happened, by matching atmosphere and instrument playing, due to absence of beat matching.
Patrick Shah is a German producer and DJ who established his career combining melodic Balearic sounds with trance elements. However, he created something completely different with this short masterpiece, used only as an intro to one of his compilations.

Yashar Sargordan - Cosmic Mysticism
Yashar Sargordan is Iranian producer from Tehran that's behind Cosmic Mysticism, a beautiful track composed in A major.

Stavros Sounds - Sareri Hovin
You can say that I played Sareri Hovin once before, in my 2016 mix Drawing Path. But, you can also say I didn't. The reason is that earlier I rearranged the Hraach version of this song, completely disposing the vocals and creating instrumental with duduk as the main musical motive.
Stavros Sounds is Khachatur Margaryan, artist from Yerevan, who covered a song by Komitas (Soghomon Soghomonian), Armenian priest, musicologist, singer and poet, considered as the founder of Armenian national school of music.
I'll die for the wind of the mountains,
I'll die for the height of my beloved.
I stopped, I can't come, I'm filled, I can't cry.
I haven't seen in a year,
Those who've seen, oh beloved, I'll die for their eyes.
The rivers don't bring water,
They don't bring any news from you.
Your heart must be frozen,
Your love, oh beloved, they don't bring it in vain.
I stopped, I can't come, I'm filled, I can't cry

Valeron - Almajara
Valeron is Ilias Valaris, Greek artist from Corfu, with place of residence at Mykonos island, where he is performing with a group of musicians that are playing bouzouki, guitar, lyra, santur, clarinet, drums, among other instruments. His style can be described as deep and organic, influenced by ethnic music around the world.
The track title Almajara means Galaxy in Arabian.

Mladen Mande - The Tale of the Lost Kingdom
The Tale of the Lost Kingdom is a mystical track with oriental tones, composed by Mladen Stoiljković, Serbian producer, singer and guitarist from Niš. His songs are melodic and harmonic, with a variety of elements, making it difficult to determine the exact genre.

Lost Desert & Simon Vuarambon feat. Sidartha Siliceo - Firedance (Burningman Original)
Lost Desert is Patrick Bruyndonx from Belgium, described by Lee Burridge in a way that "his sounds magically paint pictures behind listeners closed eyes, ready to charm those who find their way."
Simon Vuarambon is from Switzerland, but based in Argentina, while Sidartha Siliceo is sitar player and pioneer of North Indian classical music in Mexico.
Firedance is their creation, a stunning collaboration of performers from a completely different musical spectrum, with distant nostalgic overtone.

Dan Bay - Bulgarian Folklore
Dan Bay is a producer of electronic music from Frankfurt. His music is influenced by analog synthesizers and field recorded sounds, while this track reflects choir singing typical for ethno music of Bulgaria.
This is the point in the mix where the atmosphere is getting brighter, only to return to the darker path after two tracks. By the end of the mix, it will change its course several times.

Tebra - Hemija
Milojko Jarić is the name behind Tebra, which is Serbian word for Bro.
In his track Hemija, he used samples from the Emir Kusturica 1981 cult movie "Sjećaš li se Dolly Bell". Narrated by the actor Slobodan Aligrudić, summarized in two sentences: "There is nothing extramaterial in the world! It's all chemistry."

Chris Ojeda - Miskeenah
Christopher Ojeda is Mexican-American producer from El Paso.
Miskeenah is a female name, meaning Humble.

Solidmind - Badain Jaran
Stephan Kellner, live artist and producer from Germany, stands in front of Solidmind project.
The Badain Jaran is the third largest desert in China, which spans the provinces of Gansu, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia. It covers an area of 49.000 square kilometers and is home to the tallest stationary dunes on Earth, with some reaching a height of more than 500 meters. The desert also features over 100 spring-fed lakes that lie between the dunes, some of which has fresh water, while others are extremely saline. These lakes give the desert its name, which is Mongolian for "mysterious lakes".

Apparat - Habakuk (Madraas 'Tales From The South' Edit)
Sascha Ring, aka Apparat, has been one of the defining protagonists of electronic music in Germany, while Riccardo and Marco are Italian producers behind Madraas project.
The track is inspired by a prophet from 7th century BC, whose oracles and prayer are recorded in the Book of Habakkuk, the eighth of the collected twelve minor prophets in the Hebrew Bible. Almost nothing is known about Habakkuk, with no biographical details provided. Even the origin of his name is uncertain. However, he is revered and praised in Judaism, Islam and Christianity, with feast days both in Roman Catholic and Orthodox church calendars.

Armen Miran, Hraach - Menq (Nick Warren & Nicolás Rada Remix)
Menq is a track composed in G minor by Armenian underground maestros Armen Miran and Hraach, remixed by legendary Nick Warren and a prodigy from Buenos Aires, Nicolás Rada.

Fabian Balino - Concepts of Love
Fabian Balino is Uruguayan DJ and producer living in New York City. He is behind Concepts of Love, an optimistic overview that I used as a bridge to a much darker tones that will start with Pandora.

The Provincials feat. Bozo Vreco - Pandora
Amazing duo The Provincials rearranged original song by Bosnian performer Božo Vrećo and Serbian producer Marko Luis, giving it completely new tone and very deep vibe.

Andrewboy - Heart of the Slavic Era
Andrewboy is one of the well known Hungarian producers of electronic music, with Heart of the Slavic Era presenting his instigative work.

Rick Pier O'Neil - Ancient (Rpo Part 2)
Rick Pier O'Neil, also known as Rpo, is a French artist with quite interesting musical path, that led him from his native France to Barcelona and settling in Mexico, where he still lives. Very unusual roots, making it perfect ending.
